MassCat is a library catalog of holdings from school, medical, law, special and a few public libraries.

The MassCat catalog contains materials from libraries with very diverse holdings. Some examples include:

  • Primary documents on the Massachusetts textile industry before the 20th century.
  • Sheet music for compositions of obscure composers.
  • Building code requirements for all kinds of structures.

While some of the more specialized and intriguing materials cannot be taken out of the library, MassCat member libraries are committed to sharing their resources. We invite you to search the database and should you find items of interest, you are encouraged to contact the library to arrange an appointment to view their most specialized materials.

MassCat is migrating to a new system!

MassCat is migrating to the open source system called Koha. We have contracted with a company called LibLime to provide us with hosting, migration and "help desk" services. We hope to go live with this new system right around July 1.
